Court rulings against Mizrahi Tefahot Bank: a full, updated database
A free database of court decisions in which Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, Mizrahi Tefahot Leasing or Bank Igud (Union Bank) were held liable, agreed to a settlement, or in which the court certified a class action against them. Each decision has a page with the case number, the court, the date, the outcome and a link to the source.
The database answers a question people search for on Google: have the courts already ruled against Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, and on what matter. It includes 39 decisions from 2007 to 2026. 20 of them are in class actions, and the rest are in civil claims, appeals, execution proceedings and the Antitrust Tribunal.
The database includes decisions in which the bank was ordered to pay or undertook to pay, and also decisions that certified a class action against it. These are marked separately, because they have not yet decided the claim on the merits. The number of claims pending against the bank is much larger: in its financial report for the first quarter of 2025, the bank itself disclosed 16 material motions to certify a class action against it and its subsidiaries (Note 10 to the report). A claimed amount is not a liability.

How to read the database
The decisions are grouped by topic, and within each topic they are sorted from newest to oldest. At the bottom of the page there is a table of all decisions by date.
"Full text" leads to the judgment or the decision itself. "Source" leads to the report or other document from which the details were taken.
Approval of a settlement is not a judgment on the merits. In such a settlement the bank usually does not admit a violation.
"Certified as a class action" means the court allowed the claim to proceed on behalf of a class. The claim itself has not yet been decided.
The amounts are as set in the decision or the settlement. They are not added together, because some are compensation to customers and some are payments to the Class Actions Fund.
Frequently asked questions about court rulings against Mizrahi Tefahot Bank
Where can I find the full text of a court ruling against Mizrahi Tefahot Bank?
Each decision's page has a link to the full text when it has been published openly online. When there is no link, you can search by case number in the Net HaMishpat database of the Israeli Judiciary.
Does approval of a settlement mean the bank admitted a violation?
Not necessarily. In class action settlements the bank usually does not admit a violation, and the court approves the settlement without deciding the dispute. That is why the database distinguishes between a judgment on the merits, approval of a settlement, and certification of a claim as a class action.
Is it permitted to copy and publish a court ruling?
Under section 6 of the Copyright Law, 5768-2007, there is no copyright in judicial decisions. Fair and accurate reporting on a public judicial proceeding is also protected under section 13 of the Prohibition of Defamation Law. Identifying details of minors, or of parties whose identity the court ordered to be withheld, are not published here.
Are all the decisions in the database final?
No. Some decisions are subject to appeal or were heard by a higher court. Each decision's page states what is known about an appeal, and what still needs to be checked in Net HaMishpat.
